Procedures Performed Lower Blepharoplasty, Upper Blepharoplasty
Many patients seek improvement in the appearance of their eyes for personal and practical reasons. In this case, our patient noticed a family tendency toward hooded eyes and felt her upper eyelids appeared heavy, especially when tired. She also wanted to make it easier to wear makeup with less interference from excess upper eyelid skin. In initial conversations, we considered the possibility of a small lift with Botox, but our primary discussion focused on an upper blepharoplasty to address skin redundancy and fat pad herniation. We also explored her concerns regarding hollow and baggy lower eyelids.
After examination, we determined that both the upper and lower eyelids showed signs of fat pad herniation. The lower eyelids also revealed some volume loss. Our patient’s brows were in a good position, aside from mild asymmetry that did not require surgical adjustment. Options discussed included upper blepharoplasty, lower blepharoplasty with the addition of fat grafting, and laser treatments for enhanced results. The patient ultimately chose to proceed with both upper and lower blepharoplasty.
Following her procedure, her eyes appeared less heavy, with smoother and more youthful contours. Many patients find these changes make daily routines such as applying makeup easier and help alleviate the feeling of tiredness in the eye area. We follow a closely monitored recovery process and tailored aftercare to support optimal outcomes.
At Karter Advanced Facial Plastic Surgery, we approach every case with detailed assessment and open communication. Our practice provides eyelid surgery with an emphasis on safety and individualized care.
