Procedures Performed Buccal Fat, Deep Plane Facelift
After losing 20 pounds a few years ago, this patient noticed that she still struggled with excess fullness in her lower face and under her chin. Despite her weight loss, changes in her neck and jawline did not respond to dieting or other efforts. She consulted with several physicians before visiting our Wethersfield office to learn more about long-term options. In our consultation, we discussed the unique anatomy of her neck, including areas of excess skin, subcutaneous fat, and prominent platysmal bands. We also reviewed differences between a deep plane facelift and a traditional SMAS facelift, focusing on which approach would provide the most effective and natural-looking result for her concerns.
We recommended a deep plane facelift because it addresses deeper tissue layers without creating an overly tight appearance. This method allows us to reposition sagging tissues, remove excess skin, and sculpt the jawline while preserving a natural look. We also targeted fullness in her submandibular glands, digastric muscles, and subplatysmal fat as part of a comprehensive facial rejuvenation.
At Karter Advanced Facial Plastic Surgery, we prioritize thoughtful discussion and tailored planning for every patient. As a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon, I maintain a focus on anatomical detail and precision in every step of a deep plane facelift. Our goal remains to help each patient feel more confident in their appearance while maintaining natural facial harmony.
